Maintenance Information
The Maintenance Departments make up the largest group in the Facilities & Operations Division.
There are two primary maintenance departments at UAHuntsville, and each of those departments have
specialized shops.
The Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Department, as the name may suggest, responds to service and
maintenance needs for:
- Mechanical Systems
- Heating & Cooling Systems
- Electrical
- Plumbing
The Building Maintenance & Construction Department team is responsible
for:
- Building Repairs & Maintenance
- Construction Oversight
- Painting
- Remodeling & Renovation
All maintenance work is directed through Facilities with the use of a work
order, whether it be routine or a special request. A Maintenance Management Program is used to track
maintenance jobs from start to finish.

To submit a Service Order request (construction, renovation, alteration requests), please fill out the Service
Order form and forward a signed copy to the Work Order Desk.
