expanded significantly in response to new destinations and installation of the
greenway to provide a more walkable campus.

Motor Vehicle Circulation: The existing primary accessibility system
will stay in place, with one exception (re-routing traffic around rather than between Morton
and Frank Franz Halls) and the installation of roundabouts at the northeast and
southwest corners of campus.

Bicycle Circulation: All of the primary motor vehicle routes (except Holmes
Avenue) and several of the major pedestrian routes will be constructed or
redesigned to install bicycle lanes. Bicycle storage facilities will be installed to
serve every destination.

Parking: Surface and structured parking will be located throughout the
campus in a manner that supports primary functions. Parking is typically a major land use
that tends to separate people and key facilities from one another, and the intent
is to encourage pedestrian, bicycle, and (future) transit access by relocating
surface lots from the campus interior to perimeter locations over time. Residential
parking will remain close to student housing facilities. Most commuter parking will
be located around the perimeter near the primary vehicular system to ensure
convenient access.
PHASING
The phasing diagram illustrates the general order of investment that would lead
to realization of the Campus-Wide Vision. Existing buildings (including the new
residence hall underway) are indicated in

black. Building projects that should
have the highest priority are indicated in medium gray and those that would
follow later are indicated in a lighter gray. The intent is to build the Heart of the
Campus as a place where as many functions come together.
